I was commissioned by John Brown University to paint a mural representing several departments including English, Spanish, history, and worship arts. This mural was 9 feet tall and 19 feet wide.
It was my first big project and also my first sponsored work. I honestly began this project having not a single clue what I was doing. But I just started painting. I hit all kinds of roadblocks. The white background took 3 coats of paint and about 5 hours per coat. I kept underestimating how much paint was needed. But I am grateful for this opportunity. I learned how to scale details, how to manage a huge project, and how to properly make a budget for my sponsors.
